5 Best Dog-Friendly Brunch Places in DC

We the Dogs  |  August 28, 2018
Posted in: DC

The only thing that DC area residents seem to enjoy more than talking politics is going to brunch. We can’t blame them: after a long work week, enjoying a plate of delicious eggs benny and a mimosa while people watching from a patio is a well-deserved treat. If you can bring your pup along, it’s the icing on calorie-laden morning bun. The DC area is filled with dog-friendly brunch spots, but we’ve put together a list of five of our favorite spots.

1. Virtue Feed & Grain

106 S. Union Street

Alexandria, VA 22314

Virtuefeedgrain.com

This restaurant is located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, and it’s the pawfect spot for a leisurely brunch after a stroll along the waterfront or a visit to the Torpedo Factory Art Center. Dogs are welcomed on the patio and even have a menu just for them. Tables on the patio are slightly spread out allowing for dogs to lay down by the tables and enjoy the shade from the umbrellas overhead.

2. Colada Shop

1405 T Street, NW

Washington, DC 20009

After checking out the historic U Street neighborhood or going for a morning walk through Meridian Hill Park, stop by a favorite local spot for a delicious brunch. While owners can dine on yummy breakfast sandwiches paired with Cuban coffee, pups can enjoy guava and peanut butter dog cookies on the outdoor patio.

3. Art & Soul

415 New Jersey Ave, NW

Washington, DC 20001

After a game of fetch on the Capitol grounds, you and your pup can head over to this downtown brunch spot for a pawsome meal. Dogs can enjoy being pampered as they order from the Pooch Patio menu, which includes sliced sirloin and Peanut-Banana Pupsicles. Art & Soul even offers Bowser Beer, a non-alcoholic beef flavored drink, so your pup can join in on your boozy brunch.

4. Silver

7910 Woodmont Ave, NW

Bethesda, MD 20815

After a morning shopping along Bethesda Row, you and your pup can stop by Silver for an upscale diner brunch. Silver has a delightfully dog-friendly outdoor space filled with shade, and it’s separated from the sidewalk with fences and flower boxes. Dogs are given water and lots of pets. Besides yummy brunches, Silver also hosts “Pups on the Patio” happy hours on Thursdays.

5. Cedar Knoll

9030 Lucia Lane

Alexandria, VA 22308

This dog friendly restaurant is the pawfect stop after a morning walk touring the grounds of George Washington’s Mount Vernon. If you and your pup are looking for a peaceful spot to recharge, you’ll find it at Cedar Knoll where you can enjoy a delicious brunch with breathtaking views of the Potomac River.
